POLICIES & ETIQUETTE

Lotus Fitness Studio is proud to provide a safe, empowering and professional instructional environment. We strive to foster an atmosphere of consideration, support and respect. Please familiarize yourself with our policies prior to attending class. If you have any questions on these policies or what classes are best for you please call 407-851-5799 for a consultation.

New Clients:

All new clients must fill out the New Client Paperwork, including the Student Agreement and waiver, prior to participating in any class or party. No exceptions will be made.  Please plan to arrive 15 minutes early for your first class.

Participant Age:

Pole Classes are open to adults ages 18 and up only (Photo ID required).  

Aerial & Grounded Classes are open to anyone 16 years and up. 

STUDENTS UNDER THE AGE OF 18 MUST HAVE A PARENT OR GUARDIAN SIGN THE WAIVER BEFORE THEY CAN PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS.

Scheduling:

To keep our classes at a manageable size, class space is limited and it is imperative that clients pre-register for each class they wish to attend throughout the month. Registered clients will always have first-priority on attendance; walk in’s are welcomed, however we cannot guarantee that walk-in clients will be accommodated in class.

Tardiness:

Unless you have made prior arrangements with your instructor, if you are more than 5 minutes late for a registered class, we ask that you not attend and will be subject to our late cancel fee.  If you are more than 5 minutes late, your spot can be given to another student.

In the event of a missed class, please see below for our Missed Class policy.  While we understand that outside circumstances may occasionally interfere with attending on time, this policy is in place for your safety.  A proper warm-up is crucial to staying safe and injury-free. Out of respect for your instructor(s) and fellow classmates as well as your own body, please do your best to arrive on time.  It is our suggestion that you try to arrive 15 minutes prior to your class start time.  We have seating and a merchandise boutique available for you to visit while you wait for your class to begin.

Missed Class & Late Cancel:

We have a 12-hour cancellation policy. As long as you cancel at least 12 hours before your scheduled class or  waitlist, you will not lose that class or be charged. 

 
If you late cancel or do not show up for your class waitlist you will lose the class from your account.
Members will be charged a fee of $5 for Grounded Classes and $10 for Pole or Aerial Classes if  the 12 hour cancellation is not meet.

 

Thank you for you understanding, when you cancel a class last minute we are not able to fill that space.
 
Exceptions to this policy may be made at the discretion of the management only.
 
 

Waitlist Policy:

If a class is full, you can sign up to be on the waitlist.  There is always a chance that students  sign out early from classes, making room for those on the waitlist. When a student signs out within the 12-hour cancellation period, you will receive an automatic email and text (as long as you opt in for texts) letting you know you have been taken off the waitlist, and given a spot in the class. At that point, you will be held to the same cancellation policy as any other class you sign up for.

Please make sure we have a valid phone number and email, so you can be notified.

When you sign up for the waitlist, please be prepared to come to the studio and take the class.

If you are not sure you will be able to make it on short notice, please remove yourself from the waitlist to avoid being charged for class in case you are added in.  If you are added into class, you will be held to the same cancellation policy as any other class you sign up for.

Payments:

Full payment for our classes are due no later than the first day of that session.  We accept cash or credit/debit cards for payment.

Refunds and Transfers:

All Memberships and Drop In class payments are non-refundable. 

If you are enrolled in one of our Series and are unable to attend for the duration of the Series period due to pregnancy or injury, you may suspend membership for up to one year.  After that point, membership payments can be reestablished.  

Membership enrollments may not be shared between students.  

All specialty classes, private lessons and workshops are non-refundable. Specialty classes and workshops are transferable if you are able to find another student to take your place prior to the class or workshop taking place.  No credit or refunds will be given for no-shows (workshops or classes).  Management must be notified of any transfers prior to the start of the workshop or specialty class.  

All merchandise purchases are non-refundable. 

Medical Conditions or Injuries:

Prior to signing up for classes, please check with your physician if you have any medical issues. Information regarding any past or present illnesses, surgeries, diseases or conditions that may limit your ability to participate in any of our classes, must be disclosed to us at the time of registration. Enrollment in any of our classes is done so at your own risk. Always disclose any concerns or conditions to your instructor so she may allow for appropriate modifications. Remember – safety is always first. You are responsible for respecting your own limits

Pregnancy:

Enrollment may be permitted in our ground-based classes during pregnancy.  Please do not attend any of our pole or aerial classes if you are pregnant, until cleared by your doctor.  A doctor’s release must be provided for that specific type of exercise. 

Alcoholic Beverages:

Alcohol or drugs are not allowed to be consumed before any physical activities at the studio. We reserve the right to refuse service, without refund or credit, to anyone who is or appears to be intoxicated or may be a danger to self or others.

Belongings:

We have cubbies in each room where you are free to leave your personal belongings during class. Although our studio is safe, we cannot be held responsible for any items you bring with you into the studio. This includes, property loss, theft or damage.

Attire

Typical athletic clothing is appropriate for all of our classes, under garments or swimsuits are not allowed to be used as work-out attire. 

For pole classes, please do not wear any lotions, oils or creams on the day of class as they can make the poles slippery.

For Lyra & Silks classes, please wear clothing that covers the backs of the knees and torso. This will help avoid burns caused by friction with the silks or hoop. Keep your hair in a bun to keep it from being pulled by the fabric.

Do not wear any jewelry or anything with rivets, hooks, zippers or studs that may scratch or tear any equipment. You will be responsible for any damages to apparatuses due to your negligence of this policy. 

Safety:

Safety is our number one priority. As such we have several rules that must be adhered to in order to ensure a safe environment for all students and instructors. Students may not, under any circumstances, instruct or spot each other. Leave all instruction to your trained instructor. Please proceed at your own pace and do not exceed your current capabilities. Your instructor is there to guide you but you are always responsible for knowing your own limitations. Always follow your instructor’s cues and adhere to the lesson structure. Our curriculum is progressive in nature and is designed to meet you at your current level. If you do not follow the lesson structure and instead attempt to do your own thing, it is not only disruptive to the class but it presents a safety concern. Any inversions are never to be attempted without proper instruction and an instructor supervising or assisting your moves.

Code of Conduct:

Lotus Fitness Studio is a place to release stress, boost inner confidence, and participate in a healthy lifestyle. We are proud to have a positive studio environment where all are welcome. All students should be respectful and supportive of their fellow classmates and instructors. We do not tolerate bullying or disrespecting of other students and their personal space. Such behavior will result of removal from the studio and you will be banned from taking classes Lotus Fitness Studio. 

Please respect your fellow classmates and your instructor by not using your phone during classes and keeping it silenced at all times. If you must take or make a call please do so only in emergency situations and without being disruptive to the class. We appreciate your cooperation.

Pictures & Filming:

It is preferred that picture taking or filming is done during open pole, open fly time or before and after class if time allows.  However picture taking and recording is only allowed if it is not distracting or disruptive to the instructor and students.  Please be respectful of instructors’ and students’ privacy by not including them in your pictures or recordings without their consent. Please also refrain from posting pictures or videos to social media without instructors’ and students’ consent. 

Please arrive 10-15 minutes before  class on your first visit to the studio to allow time to sign the studio wavier, you can also download, sign, and bring the waiver with you to save some time.  DOWNLOAD WAIVER HERE
